Dr. Bernd Weichhaus, LL.M.
Lawyer
Bernd Weichhaus has been working as a lawyer since 2004. After three years at the Berlin office of Preu Bohlig & Partner, he worked at the IP boutique Lubberger Lehment until joining JBB in 2024.
He advises on the establishment and defence of selective distribution systems. He has relevant industry experience both in the luxury sector (jewellery, bags and perfumes) and in the furniture sector. When providing contractual advice, he focuses on the qualitative protection of the distribution of branded goods, taking into account the creative use of omni-channel concepts. He also conducts antitrust compliance trainings inhouse or for associations. Furthermore, he provides advice in the run-up to advertising campaigns as well as in relation to legal requirements for the advertising of cosmetics. Finally, Bernd Weichhaus regularly handles disputes relating to trade mark, copyright and unfair competition law issues.
Bernd Weichhaus is regularly recommended in JUVE in the areas of trade mark, unfair competition and distribution law.
He studied law (Marburg, Freiburg, Geneva and London (LLM)), specialising in intellectual property and antitrust law. His doctorate in copyright law from 2002 focused on the rules governing copyright collecting societies.
Before working as a lawyer, he completed a six-month traineeship with the Directorate-General for Competition at the EU Commission.
