Dennis Gehnen, LL.M.

Dennis Gehnen was admitted to the bar in Berlin in 2005 and is a partner at the firm.

He has many years of experience in intellectual property law, particularly in trademark, copyright, and competition law, as well as IT and media law. He advises and represents his clients primarily in technology-driven industries and on issues related to digitalization, mobility, and innovative business models.

Another focus of his practice is corporate and venture capital law. He provides comprehensive support to startups, scale-ups, and investors in financing rounds, exits, corporate transactions, and other corporate law matters.

In 2026, Dennis Gehnen was nominated by The Legal 500 as “Lawyer of the Year” in the area of private equity and venture capital; since 2024, he has been listed there as a recommended lawyer in the area of venture capital.

His career began at JBB before he headed the legal department of a medium-sized software company. Before returning to JBB as a partner in 2026, he was counsel at a major European commercial law firm. This combination of legal advice, in-house experience and international law firm practice shapes his hands-on, business-oriented consulting approach.
